Do all prepaid cell phones have sim cards?

I'm looking for a new phone, because my phone now is old, and it keeps freezing on me.
So we was just going to switch it over to my boyfriends old metropcs phone but I don't want a flip phone, I want a newer phone.
So I was wondering if all prepaid phones have sim cards because metropcs can't unlock phones that have sim cards because that's just not how their system works.
So is there any prepaid cell phone without a sim card? If so, can you tell me which ones or service brands?

Not ALL prepaid phones have sim cards. My old prepaid phone (Lg Rumor from Virgin Mobile) was activated online. Older phones have sim cards but you can always check with a worker at the cellphone company. Good luck!

Not all do it depends on if its cdma or gsm also the company.

most phons operate on quad band just look for a phone with 850 mhz and if it take sim cards or not if so just find a phone that match and have it unlocked.

for example: 850 tmobile (simcard) can use a unlocked 850 at&t (simcard) phone and vise versa.

also be sure to check you phone company for frequency and cdma or gsm network.
